David R. Brandon is an exemplary health care executive with a quarter century track record of increasing fiscal responsibility, competitive and market growth, and financial integrity. Heading hospitals in diversified capacities, David R. Brandon has held C-level positions, including CEO, COO, and CFO. Actively involved in managing and growing diversified health care environments, David R. Brandon has exhibited recognized expertise in operations, IT systems, hospitals, physician recruitment, and staff services. David R. Brandon served as president and chief executive officer at the Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Indiana for 14 years, actively organizing and leading physician recruitment and retention activities, resulting in an expansion of medical staff from 20 to 105 physicians. David R. Brandon championed the recruitment of both primary care physicians (family practice, ob-gyn, internal medicine pediatrics) and a diverse group of specialists into the community through a physician employment model. Finance is a critical component of hospital management as evidenced by the recent passage of landmark health care legislation. David R. Brandon, as a partner at the Pinnacle Group, Inc. – a physician practice investment/management firm in Durham, North Carolina from 1987-1990, brokered the acquisition of three hospitals and participated in the interim turnaround management team during transitions, becoming the driving force in developing hospital strategic plans and MSO services. David R. Brandon has garnered numerous health care accolades, including ranking as one of the Top 50 non-teaching hospitals nationwide on quality measures by the Center for Healthcare Industry performance Studies and earning a HealthGrades award for pulmonary medicine. Taking the helm as executive director for business development at Mountain States Health Alliance in Johnson City, Tennessee from 1990 to 1995, David R. Brandon obtained a $3.5 million Kellogg Foundation Grant for joint venture rural family practice teaching center with ETSU Quillen College of Medicine. David R. Brandon earned his M.B.A. at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
