David Martosko - Professional Summary:   

 

A graduate of Dartmouth College (BA) and the Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Conservatory (MA), David Martosko has embraced a completely different form of communications in his professional life. His early classical music career took a turn into graphic design and radio production during the 1990s, and he began 2001 as a public affairs and PR communicator. David Martosko was a Broadcast Producer for ABC Radio in Washington, DC, serving as a technical and content coordinator for some of WMAL-AM 630’s primary talk radio programs. He performed research on current events and issues to bring a variety broadcast programs to life and worked behind the scenes to promote an evening talk show host to new ratings heights. As Director of Research and a Senior Strategist at Berman and Company, David Martosko has become highly influential in the national debates over food politics, seafood safety, and animal welfare. Berman and Company is a Washington public affairs firm whose staff designs and orchestrates a variety of multi-platform multimedia communications projects. Martosko leads teams whose work has won a half-dozen national awards, including three in 2011. Outside of his professional work, David Martosko is also an active supporter of various charitable and philanthropic causes, including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Red Cross, the Washington Master Chorale, the Capital Area Humane Society, and the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, among many other organizations. His family is also active in the Episcopal Church.
