About David Jeffries

Acting as a key interface between Marketing, IT and risk areas to develop MI solutions from simple analysis and reporting procedures (univariate statistics, tabulations, reports etc) to complex CHAID, linear/logistic regression models for customer segmentation, response models etc.
Managing list creation process from selection to mailing house production covering areas such as selection criteria, legal and marketing restrictions, marketing mix allocation, mailing tape delivery and returns.

Risk Management Experience
Lloyd's TSB Group
Working alongside the Group Credit Risk Manager to build the SAS tools and analytical frame-work that would help management determine if and how best to effect risk transfer & capital relief under Basel II.
Specific tasks included data intergration, ETL and statistical analyse of the current portfolio in order to develop risk orientated segmentations for further analysis.
Halifax Bank of Scotland Group
Construction of standardised SAS sample datasets for Basel II model development this involved, data cleansing, data merges and data profiling of several mortgage brand prortfolios held in a variety of formats across different platforms in various UK locations.
Ulster Bank
Working with the credit scoring analysts to redesign, develop and implement Basel compliant scoring models from a spreadsheet PC environment to a SAS server environment with the aim of producing an automated scoring platform from data input to management reports.
Bristol & West Building Society
Development of drill-down Basel 2 KPI reporting suite for portfolio monitoring(EAD), rating model review(Model stability, predictive content, risk differention, grade migration), Limit setting and overrides.
Nationwide Building Society
Large scale implementation of Basel II LGD, PD, EAD and Economic Capital risk models and integration of data feeds. Development of standard procedures and best practices for SAS program development, analysis and reporting. Development support to retail risk management teams. Working with IT and business teams to ensure data and system integration met business and technical requirements.

SAS Base
David has worked on a number of assignments (HBOS, Nationwide Building Society, Business & Decisions, Logic CMG) in which he has been involved with data quality, data cleansing and data integration issues in addition to developing ETL and scheduling routines for large scale data warehousing applications. The work was carried out using SAS Base macro components.
SAS STAT
David is fully conversant with univariate and multivariate procedures within SAS STAT including analysis of variance, regression, categorical data analysis, cluster analysis etc and has used them extensively for statistical analysis and reporting, customer segmentation and propensity model development within marketing and risk environments (Lloyd's TSB, Business & Decisions, Ogilvy & Mather Dataconsult, CACI, Eagle Star, GE Capital, Nationwide)
SAS Enterprise Guide
David has a good knowledge of using SAS Enterprise Guide both as a RAD tool and as a reporting tool and has used it extensively with Lloyds TSB, Nationwide and Bristol & West Building Societies to develop user reporting and analysis suites. He has also provided user training in the use of Enterprise Guide.
SAS Enterprise Miner
David has a background in economics and statistics and is fully conversant with all the procedures used within SAS Enterprise Miner and has used it for customer segmentation, profiling and scorecard development within the banking sector (Misr International Bank, National Bank of Kuwait, Eagle Star) He has also provided user training in the use of Enterprise Miner.
SAS ETL/DI Studio
David has used SAS ETL and SAS DWA to create metadata, define sources, targets and the processes that connect them (Business & Decisions, Logic CMG, National Bank of Kuwait) He is currently following SAS training courses to update his knowledge to the current version of SAS DI Studio.
