David Hewitt is a professional poker player from Greer, South Carolina. Hewitt picked up his first two tournament cashes at the 2006 and 2007 Gold Strike World Poker Open in Tunica respectively. In 2006, Hewitt competed in the second $500 No Limit Hold'em event, and finished in 8th to pick up earnings of $2,522. The following year, David Hewitt once again finished 8th in the $500 No Limit Hold'em event, this time picking up a check of $2,372.
David Hewitt picked up his biggest tournament cash yet at the 38th World Series of Poker in June 2007. Participating in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event with 1,618 other entrants, Hewitt worked his way up through the field and on to the final table. Despite an impressive display, Hewitt was forced to settle for 2nd place by Ben Ponzio. David Hewitt picked up $373,985 for his efforts.
A few days later at the Bellagio Cup III, David Hewitt finished 5th out of 110 in the $1,000 Nightly No Limit Hold'em event. With a prize pool of $106,700 to play for, Hewitt walked away with $ 5,870.
David Hewitt put in another solid performance at the World Poker Finals at Mashantucket in November 2007. Competing in the $2,800 No Limit Hold'em event with 201 other entrants, each vying for a chunk of the $553,482 prize money, Hewitt finished 10th and took home $10,239.
