About David Fett
Dr. David R. Fett possesses more than 25 years of experience in the field of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. His practice, Fett Eyelid Center, has treated patients since 1985. Because Dr. David Fett wants to minimize patients’ recovery time and provide a good experience, he ensures that his facility’s staff fully addresses the clientele’s needs and concerns. Laser-assisted technology gives him better control in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. David Fett has performed more than 30,000 reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid procedures.
Dr. David Fett’s expertise is the result of many years of research and hands-on practice. Before specializing in ophthalmic surgery, he earned a degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. Before studying health care, he matriculated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he completed undergraduate and graduate degrees. Upon graduation from Dartmouth, he finished an internship at the University of California, San Francisco, and Mount Zion Hospital. Next, he completed a residency in ophthalmology at UCLA and the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. David Fett’s excellent work led him to then be selected for a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and orbital surgery at Michael Reese Hospital and the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Dr. David Fett is both a working surgeon and instructor. At the Jules Stein Eye Institute, he teaches courses and trains students and fellows by sharing his professional experience. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals such as Science, Annals of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, and other journals.
In addition to being an active member of the scientific community, Dr. David Fett belongs to the American Medical Association, the California Association of Ophthalmology, the California Medical Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Los Angeles Eye Society, and the Blepharoplasty Society, and is fellowship trained by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
An outdoors sports enthusiast, Dr. David Fett pursues mountain biking, hiking, traveling, and gardening in his free time.
