About David Bergen
As a Management Advisory Consultant for Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. David Bergen has been working with CIO's and IT leadership teams in strategy and process development as part of their overall IT transformation. Mr. Bergen also assists organizations in improving the IT performance. Mr. Bergen possesses extensive experience in building and leading IT organizations that operate on a global scale. Mr. Bergen is known among colleagues and clients alike for his keen managerial drive and is well versed in refining key processes, creating shared-service functions, and outsourcing non-core tasks.
Over the course of his professional career, Mr. Bergen has held a number of executive roles with internationally recognized companies such as Levi Straus & Co., The Gap, and Duty Free Shoppers. The former Senior Vice President and Global CIO of Levi Strauss & Co., Mr. Bergen played an integral part in transforming the company’s regionally based IT organization to a global shared service organization and led the implementation of a global SAP platform, a new worldwide retail platform, and e-commerce capabilities.
Committed to keeping abreast of industry trends and sharing his knowledge with the greater IT community, Mr. Bergen was one of the original founders of the Bay Area CIO Forum, where he formerly served as the Vice Chair and a Keynote presenter. Mr. Bergen has also contributed his experience to various academic institutions as a speaker at Santa Clara University School of Business’ CIO Leadership program and as an Instructor at the CIO Institute with the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Bergen matriculated at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, from which he earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.
Mr. Bergen currently resides in California’s San Francisco Bay Area.
