Dau Ly, nicknamed "Tommy The Natural", is a little-known poker player from Duluth, Georgia. Ly has managed two tournament cashes, both at the 38th World Series of Poker 2007 at the Rio in Las Vegas in June 2007.
In a field of 576 entrants, Dau Ly slowly worked his way through the field in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event, with each elimination taking him closer to his maiden World Series of Poker bracelet. A new face on the circuit, unfancied Ly forced his way on to the final table and managed an impressive 3rd place finish, behind Scott Clements and Eric 'Rizen' Lynch.
Dau Ly’s commendable performance helped him pick up substantial earnings of $78,624 of the $786,240 prize pool. Ly further add to his earnings in the Pot Limit Omaha World Championship event, where he once again made his way through a field of 314 entrants to make the final table. Ly failed to better his earlier performance, finished 4th but taking away a much bigger pay check of $209,564.
