About Darren Malek
Darren Malek, an attorney and the Managing Principal of Veritas Law Group, offers legal support to businesses and entrepreneurs in Michigan and Illinois. Bringing a range of skills and in-depth knowledge of business-related litigation and transactions, Darren Malek focuses on several practice areas, including contracts, finance, representation of distressed borrowers, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate development. Darren Malek holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Lake Forest College and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. Throughout his academic career, he contributed as an intern and later as a paralegal for governmental and private establishments. From 1995 to 1999, Malek served as a paralegal at the financial services firm JPMorgan Chase & Company, demonstrating competence in the processing of loan documentation as well as providing support in litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.
In 2001, Darren Malek joined the Michigan firm Varnum LLP, where for seven years he continued to hone his skills in the areas of transactional law and litigation. At this time, Malek began sharing his industry expertise through publications and public speaking, including the 2007 meeting of the Michigan Banker?s Association, where he spoke on the subject of commercial loan documentation. In 2008, Darren Malek founded Veritas Law Group, and he continues to provide commercial legal services at the firm?s Kalamazoo, Michigan, offices.
In addition to holding licenses in Michigan and Illinois, Darren Malek is admitted to practice law in several courts of appeal and federal districts throughout the country. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Illinois State Bar Association. In the past, Malek has served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Portage and the City of Portage Vision 2025 Project. He is also a graduate of Kalamazoo Leadership, a local leadership development program.
