Dan Schmiech, a 47-year old poker player, started playing poker, approximately a decade ago. His favorite poker variant is Hold’em. He has earned substantially in his stint as a poker player.


Dan Schmiech ranked 5th and earned $3,169 in the Third Jack Binion Mid-America Poker Classic Event #1 – Pot-Limit Omaha held on July 31, 2003 but the rest of the year did not see much action from him. Though 2004 also was eventless for Dan Schmiech, fortunes smiled on him during the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Poker Tournament - WSOP Circuit Event on April 28, 2005, where he finished 4th with total earnings of $6,055 in Event #2 –WSOP Circuit Limit Hold’em. Not long after, on May 6 to be exact, the Harrah's Lake Tahoe Poker Tournament - WSOP Circuit Event was held and Dan Schmiech secured 2nd place with a total earnings of $51, 605. On 28 May, 2005, the Harrahs New Orleans Poker Challenge - WSOP Circuit Event saw him grow richer by $19, 685 and secure 17th place in Event #8 - WSOP Circuit Main Event – No-Limit Hold'em. Dan Schmiech improved his rank to 16th position and earned $22, 265 at the 36th Annual World Series of Poker Event #2 - WSOP No-Limit Hold'em held on June 3, 2005. He would always hold June 27 close to his heart because it was on that day he walked away with the highest amount so far, $404, 585 in prize money. To top it all, he finished first to win this amount in the 36th Annual World Series of Poker Event #28 - WSOP Limit Hold'em.


The next significant win for Dan Schmiech came as late as on January 11, the following year (2006). At the Goldstrike World Poker Open / WPT Season 4 Event #2 - WPO No-Limit Hold'em held on this day, he took home $2, 037 and finished 16th. Soon after, on January 16, he bettered his ranking to 11th at the Goldstrike World Poker Open / WPT Season 4 No Limit Hold'em, but had to be content with earnings of $1, 420. On March 30, at the World Poker Challenge - WPT Season 4 WPT Main Event – No-Limit Hold'em, a good ranking evaded him again, for he finished 14th but carried home a purse that was fatter by $22, 795. Another event which Dan Schmiech participated in was the Las Vegas Poker Tournament - WSOP Circuit Event where he secured 6th place and took home $10, 294 in Event #8 - WSOP Circuit No-Limit Hold'em. In the 37th Annual World Series of Poker Event #39 - WSOP No-Limit Hold'em Championship WSOP Final held on August 10, 2008, he bagged $329, 865.


As early as on January 12, 2007, Dan Schmiech was richer by $24, 343 after he finished 2nd at the World Poker Open / WPT Event - Season 5 No Limit Hold'em. Another significant winning for Dan Schmiech was not long in the coming as he finished 10th and bagged $21, 809 in Event #10 - WSOP Circuit No Limit Hold'em Championship held on January 17, 2007. More recently, on March 31, 2008, Dan Schmiech finished 104th and grew richer by $4, 287 in the 39th World Series of Poker 2008 Event #2 - WSOP No Limit Hold'em.


Dan Schmiech, whose ambition is to win his second gold bracelet at the WSOP, claims that he would gladly legalize poker in Texas. Phil Ivey is one poker player who Dan Schmiech respects a lot. He loves listening to classical rock music and his favorite destination is Hawaii.
