About Dan Nassif

Dan Nassif, currently residing in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American poker player born in 1973. His family includes parents John and Noreen, twin brother Peter, a sister Amy and step brothers Matt and Tom.

Dan Nassif works as an advertising sales executive for The Riverfront Times Newspaper, and he feels that The Riverfront Times is not just another job for him. He says that the people who work with him are incredibly supportive and he considers them as part of his family. Dan Nassif taught himself to play poker in 2003 and has impressed people with his excellent game play as well as his down-to-earth character.

In 2006, Dan Nassif took a vacation away from work to play in the 37th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. He had to compete in a field of 8772 other players, professional and otherwise, who contributed to a prize pool of $82,676,084 for the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship WSOP Final. Dan Nassif competed against some of the well-known names of the poker world and worked his way to the final table. He had a relatively short stack when compared to the other players at the table and made it through the first few hands successfully. On his final hand, he confidently raised all in with AK but Jamie Gold, the event winner, flopped a set of Deuces. Dan Nassif finished ninth at the final table to bag $1,566,858.
Despite the fact that he had done so well at the tournament, Dan Nassif has no immediate plans of leaving his job at The Riverfront Times to take up poker full time. He is a member of the ‘www.pocketfives.com’ website and also plays poker online at FullTiltPoker, PartyPoker, PokerStars and UltimateBet under the screen name “danxxx1”.
