Dan Monfried remained with Chemical Bank following its purchase of Chase Manhattan Bank (a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase), eventually relocating to San Francisco to assist with the integration of capital management group Hambrecht & Quist Capital Management, LLC. Immediately before joining the R.J. Finlay & Co. team, Dan Monfried served as a portfolio advisor at UBS with the bank's New York branch. Dan Monfried focused on value investing for clients with an extremely high net worth and concentrated on diversification and portfolio management. In addition to leading the executive team of R.J. Finlay & Co., Dan Monfried encourages his staff to become highly involved in community service through the company's nonprofit affiliates. Dan Monfried continues to answer corporate responsibility expectations through his support of many child and family-focused charitable organizations. Examples include The Finlay Foundation, an organization assisting children and families in need through grants to local charities; Friends of Forgotten Children, which provides families with necessities such as food and clothing; Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County, an organization providing counseling and pursuing justice on behalf of families and child victims of sexual abuse; and Allegro Foundation, which provides movement instruction, education, and medical expertise for children with disabilities.
