Dani Jo Handell is a fully certified attorney with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of civil, corporate, regulatory, and criminal law. Ms. Handell’s most recent professional post was with KeyOn Communications, Inc., a provider of wireless broadband and VoIP services headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. From 2009 to 2012, Dani Jo Handell handled a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for the publicly traded business including all FCC, SEC, and state regularly filings; organizational patent and licensing agreements; corporate transactions; purchase agreements; and other general company governance issues.

Dani Jo Handell’s commitment to professional excellence stretches back to her days as an undergraduate studying Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Earning her Bachelor of Arts in 1983, she would go on to pursue her law degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). While attending UCSF, Dani Jo Handell was involved with the Hastings Law Journal, the official publication of the University’s Hastings College of Law. She would complete her tenure with the journal as a note and comment editor before graduating with her Juris Doctorate in May of 1987.

Gaining admittance to the State Bar of California in November of 1987, Dani Jo Handell embarked on a 22-year career with a number of California-based organizations, including Rosemead’s Edison International and Los Angeles’ Micronomics, Inc. In 2001, Ms. Handell would enter into government service as a Managing Deputy District Attorney with the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office in Santa Rosa, California.

Dani Jo Handell relocated to the greater Las Vegas, Nevada, region following five years with the Solano County District Attorney’s Office in Fairfield, California. She currently serves as an independent legal consultant.

Managed all legal, regulatory, and human resources functions for a publically traded wireless broadband and VoIP company serving markets in 20 states.  
Duties included FCC, SEC and state regularly filings, corporate transactions, acquisitions, patent and licensing agreements, asset sales, purchase agreements, patent prosecutions, litigation and general corporate governance matters in a dynamic and emerging communications industry.  

Responsible for all SEC filings, SOX compliance, FINRA issues, FCC licensed and unlicensed spectrum operations, network and equipment funding and leases.  Handled all Human Resource functions.  Participated in the application and grant of a $10.2 million dollar government Stimulus Award under the American Reinvestment & Recovery Act of 2009 and compliance with applicable governmental regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act.

Responsible for all aspects of investigation, enforcement and prosecution of Environmental and Consumer law matters.  Headed up task force with other District Attorney’s Offices in coordinating multi-county environmental, consumer and fraud  investigations and prosecutions.  Significant cases include:

•    People v. SBC, et. al.  Suit against Southwestern Bell Company for underground storage tank contamination violations.  Result included $25,000,000           

     in penalties and environmental clean-up costs.

•    People v. Wal-Mart Company, et al.  Illegal storage and transport of hazardous materials, including pesticide and regulated hazardous materials.            

     Case spanned all California counties, the California Attorney General’s office and the U.S. Department of Justice.

•    People v. U-Haul Companies, et. al.  Failure to train and maintain Hazardous Material Business Plans.

•    People v. Safeway Corporation.  Led 8 county investigation and negotiation involving health permit and construction violations.  

•    People v. Office Depot.  Led a 10 county investigation of pervasive sales and scanner overcharges.  Planned statistical sampling methodologies to         

     compute statewide consumer overcharges.
