I recently sold my electrical company which I started in 1986. The company
was based just outside of Chicago and did primarily large commercial projects in the Mid-West. At the time of the sale in 2013, the company had over 300 employees and all of them were able to keep their jobs after the sale which was important to me.
I was born in Cranston, Rhode Island but moved to Chicago when I was twelve. I attended both high school and college in Illinois. I consider Chicago my home. I truly enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to have visited every continent except Antarctica ( I get enough cold weather in Chicago!). At 54 I am not ready to retire. I have set up a consulting business to help give advice and guidance to small business. Having grown a successful company from nothing into a $40 million plus company over a thirty year period I have certainly made my share of mistakes along the way. In addition, I also had developed strategies for success. I enjoy sharing these with my fellow entrepreneurs. I am divorced (a negative consequence of building my business but I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters.s.
