About Daniel Caprice

As an Activities instructor/youth work I had the opportunity to work with people of all different ages and walks of life. I understand that no two people are the same but need to be respected and treated equally.

Working as a Customer Service advisor and Computer Engineer in a computer store I had to work on a first come first serve basis however on the odd occasion I would have to give more severe cases priority over the rest. I made decisions on the priority of cases based on their nature or severity.

During my time as a youth worker and also as a computer engineer I had to think proactively in my day to day roll as visiting the same job twice was not acceptable as a result of this I would always do a survey and a reasonable amount of research in to the job at hand and always took more equipment then needed to ensure that if any unexpected problems arose i was well prepared to make sure the job was done to not only the customers satisfaction but my own.

In my past roll working for The Techguys team meetings were frequently held and as a part of these meeting minutes had to be documented on paper. Extracting the relevant information from the meeting was necessary to ensure that everyone’s views were recorded and taken into account.

In my past experience as a Customer Service Advisor/Computer Engineer I had to deal with the general public on many levels. I was required to record their information on a computer logging system and as it was data sensitive I had to ensure the information was accurate and up to date as our clients would sometimes request a copy of the information we held.

In my past roll as an IT computer engineer recording information was critical and crucial to the job. Accuracy was vital as once the information was input onto the computer data base it could not be edited.

In many previous roles I have complied with the rules and regulations set down by the Data Protection Act.

Whilst working in a computer shop I had to serve many customers, some of whom were more computer literate then others. Some customers knew exactly what they wanted whilst others would have an idea but as they were not as technically minded were unsure of what they needed. However by listening and asking the relevant questions and using my communication skills I was able to extract the relevant information to assess what they required. I was often able to build up a rapport with customers and as a result they would go away very happy and recommend my service/shop to their friends and family.

Self development has been and is very much a key role in my day to day life not only as a youth worker and as an IT engineer but also in my personal life. I am constantly striving for my own self development as I think there are now and no doubt in the future will be many areas that I as a person can improve.

I believe that before making an important decision, especially one that may have a drastic impact on an individual’s life one should be allowed to have a suitable amount of time to go over the options and information available. This is to ensure that any conflicting views can be taken into account and given consideration.

I have advanced knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office package and various other Microsoft products. As a Microsoft Certified Professional I have taught young adults in youth centres and other establishments in and around London how to use Microsoft Office.
