Dan Gosling, also known as “Gozzy”, is a professional football player who was born on February 2, 1990 in Brixham, England.
In March 2007, Dan Gosling received his first call-up for the England Under-17 side and was included in the squad for the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) European U17 Championship Qualifying Round in Bosnia. He was also part of the team picked for the 2007 European Championships hosted by Belgium. In this tournament his team finished as the runners-up and qualified for the 2007 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-17 World Cup, in which he played. He has won a total of 12 international caps for the U-17 side. In the following year, Dan Gosling played a game each for the U-18 and U-19 national teams.
Dan Gosling began his professional football career with the Plymouth Argyle youth team and later got promoted to the senior side. On December 9, 2006, he made his debut for this club in a match against Hull City, in which he came in as a substitute for the injured captain Paul Wotton. This mid-fielder made his first full debut in a game against Southampton at Home Park on January 1, 2007. In this game, he proved his versatility as a player by moving from right-midfield to right-back after an early injury to defender Mathias Kouo-Doumbe.
Dan Gosling was a regular in the reserve side and his skill were noticed by Plymouth Argyle’s manager Ian Holloway, who sent him for a week-long training camp, along with his teammates Luke Summerfield and Scott Sinclair, at the English Premiership League club Chelsea in March 2007. During his tenure at Plymouth Argyle, Dan Gosling made a total of 22 appearances and scored 2 goals to his credit.
On January 14, 2008, Dan Gosling signed with the Everton football club and was handed over jersey number 32.
