Dana Elizabeth Van Woert

Graphic Designer Dana Elizabeth Van Woert currently resides and works in the Des Moines, Iowa, metropolitan area. Gaining experience at publications both in and out of academia, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert has worked in print and online media, providing design solutions in a wide range of areas. Collaborating with other designers and editors, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert demonstrates a keen ability to generate content and designs appropriate to established aesthetics.

 

While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert studied at Iowa State’s Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, where she lent her talents to that school’s alumni magazine, the Greenlee Glimpse. Dana Van Woert collaborated with student designers and editors to lay out the publication’s content; she also gained experience in prepress print procedures and strengthened web interaction among alumni by reevaluating existing design concepts. From 2009 to 2010, Dana Van Woert served as a Graphic Design apprentice for Traditional Home Magazine at Meredith Corporation. Her responsibilities included implementing smartphone barcode technology in the magazine and redesigning the publication’s Marketplace section. During her time with Traditional Home Magazine, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert garnered experience in product selection, studio and prop styling, photo shoots, and photo editing. She contributed her services in layout and photo design and often participated in content research and editorial content meetings.

 

While at Iowa State University, Dana Elizabeth Van Woert belonged to the Graphic Design Student Association and operated as the Hospitality Committee Leader for Graphic Design Portfolio Night. Dana Van Woert belongs to the Art Directors Association of Iowa and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Exhibiting a passion and interest for creative ventures, she enjoys photography (especially food photography), interior design styling and propping, fashion, and poster and packaging design.
