About Cyril Boisson

Based out of Cave Creek, Arizona, Cyril Boisson operates Cyril Boisson Fine Art LLC. For more than 15 years, Boisson has overseen the gallery’s dealings, while also providing art advice to consumers, institutions, and artists around the world.

Since beginning his career in art dealing and appraising, Cyril Boisson has functioned as an administrator for private art collections in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Museums, the Joan Miró Foundation of Barcelona, and artist Josep Maria Subirachs represent some of the parties that have sought his insights in acquiring and selling paintings.

A specialist in impressionist and modern French paintings, Cyril Boisson has served as a judge at international art competitions. In August 2010, he traveled to Hong Kong to choose a winner at the First International Students' Visual Arts Contest cum Exhibition. Commonwealth Elementary School student Marvin Lagorte of the Philippines received the grand prize for his work “My World-My Dream.”

Additionally, Cyril Boisson coordinated a showing of European grand master painters throughout the People's Republic of China. This project lasted for four years and took Boisson to locations such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Beijing. Among the artists featured at these events were Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, and Edouard Manet. Styles represented included Western old masters, 19th-century impressionists, and modern and contemporary French and Spanish artwork.

These shows were marketed to wealthy people throughout the nation, who had acquired the wherewithal to purchase some of the classic pieces. Prior to a 2006 edition of the exhibit, Sawf News interviewed Cyril Boisson to discuss the insurance of the art for $24 million, the story of one piece that was already sold, and the rise of millionaires in mainland China. Beyond paintings, these shows contained other expensive pieces, such as $500,000 Ferrari cars and $350,000 watches from De Bethune SA.
