About Cory Plock

Dr. Cory Plock possesses extensive experience in the areas of computer programming and communications technology. Dr. Plock currently serves as the President of Prolifogy, Inc., a software development company in Danbury, Connecticut. At Prolifogy, he is responsible for internal product development, organizational management, software consulting, and managing client relationships. Dr. Plock also recently taught several sections of a Programming Language course to graduate students of New York University’s Computer Science program.

From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Cory Plock was a software consultant for Microsoft Research Ltd., in Cambridge, in the United Kingdom. At Microsoft, Dr. Plock developed a tool for modeling biological systems, derived partially from the research of his Ph.D. dissertation, which runs either as a standalone application or as a multinode compute cluster.

In 2008, Dr. Plock received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University. As a doctoral student, he received numerous accolades, including the Henry M. MacCracken Fellowship, the Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, and the Henning Biermann Award for Outstanding Service to the Computer Science Department.

In 2004, Cory Plock earned a place with other accomplished Ph.D. students as an intern with the company Mission Critical Technologies. His work took place at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. While there, he served as part of the Automated Software Engineering group (now known as the Robust Software group).

Prior to that internship, Plock spent seven years in various consulting roles at the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, at their Ridgefield, Connecticut, location. In his time there, he trained the information technology staff on software development tools, investigated new technologies and worked on related proof-of-concept applications, and put in a place a software tool that extracted information from laboratory equipment and loaded it into scientific databases.

Dr. Cory Plock received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
