Currently Colin Tebb is a freelance Chartered Town Planning Consultant, and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
We are now developing a completely new WEBSITE: www.Sports-Buddies.com, a new and exciting on-line sporting community that will enable people of all ages and all abilities to get out there, get fit, get more exercise or simply enjoy a more active lifestyle....with like minded people. It also enables people to invite their mates to join and then to start 'challenging or inviting their mates (buddies) to a sport or sporting-activity they all love. At the moment the site allows you to create your profile, and rate your ability using our unique 5 star rating system, and then either; (1) find people in your area to play sport with or enjoy a more active lifestyle, or (2) invite an individual or group of friends (buddies) to sign up and then start 'challenging' or inviting them to ANY sport(s) or sporting activity.
We are currently re-writing our Business Plan, to reflect our objectives with regards to the further development of the website, and we are well aware of other NGB objectives, in particular Sport-England's objectives of getting 1 million more people doing more sport by 2012, and having re-read their Executive Summary feel that SB.com totally accords with these objectives. The site is currently very simple in enabling people to make contact and meet to play sport or get more active, and we are now looking to develop Phase II to ensure people come back to the site, to use it as an extremely useful 'tool' that encourages people to simply lead a more active lifestyle.
As part of Phase I, you can already upload results of matches, which is designed to get people challenging each other if they have just lost a game; don't get mad get even!! However, as part of Phase II we are considering other ways of encouraging people to want to do more sport/be more active by such things as; (1)reporting weight loss, (2) achieving personal goals (i.e.: running a quicker time -beating your PB, golf-your best round, walking up a mountain under a certain time, etc), (3) reporting back on events, including a sports event blog AND importantly uploading photographs of these events.
We launched a LIVE version of the website at The Outdoors Show (run by Ordnance Survey) at the NEC in March 2009, and recieved considerable support from the complete range of sporting enthusiasts, from people who love Archery to people who love Yaughting, and they loved the website. We are now devloping PHASE II (September 2009), BUT we need further investment of £15K to devlop the site into new and (as for now) secret areas.......which will make Sports-Buddies.com a UNIQUE marketable item....If you want to get involved, GIVE US A CALL!!!
My background is a BA(Hons) DEGREE in Town and Country Planning, and a Bachelor of Town Planning.
