Currently an electrical engineering major at Georgia Southern University in Augusta, GA, Clayton Blanton has excelled in his academic career, having recently been named to the university’s president’s list for the fall 2013 semester after receiving a 4.0 grade point average. Clay Blanton’s success in school also led to him receiving an invitation from the engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, the country’s second-oldest honor society and the only one representing the entire engineering profession.
In addition to his school work, Mr. Blanton also works in the IT department at Georgia Bank and Trust, where he fixes, rebuilds, and replaces computers and printers. He possesses knowledge of Cisco hardware, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows Server 2008 and 2012, and is primarily responsible for handling the company’s network security, working with firewalls and the filtration system to filter out negative content in e-mails.
Clay Blanton also enjoys a variety of hobbies. He has been snowboarding and wakeboarding since the age of 13 and continues to enjoy both in his free time. Further, since the age of three he has enjoyed hunting, particularly for quail and duck.
