Clarence Pitterson of Mississauga, Ontario, served with the Toronto Police Service for 14 years. The Constable was heavily involved in the community, organizing educational opportunities for Toronto youths, speaking on school violence and zero tolerance before legislators, and serving the Crime Stoppers Unit. In addition to his community liaison role, Clarence Pitterson served as a plainclothes officer, and worked on tactical teams as well as with gangs and youth units. He also functioned as a liaison and escort for His Honour Lincoln Alexander, Ontario's Lieutenant Governor.

His public service career continued when he transitioned from Police Officer to educator. As a Teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Clarence Pitterson instructs high school students in the social sciences, including geography, world issues, history, and law. A member of the school district since 2006, he also is a Specialist in special education and religious studies. Clarence Pitterson was a 1991 graduate of York University with a Bachelor's degree in geography. He returned to the university, receiving a Bachelor's degree in education in 2006.

Clarence Pitterson's lifelong dedication to community service extends beyond fighting crime and teaching the youth. He sits on the Board of the Sancta Maria House, a women's shelter. The Board is responsible for the daily operations of the home, the organizational and financial responsibilities, and the house's programs and services.

Even early in his career, Clarence Pitterson demonstrated an interest in helping young people. As Partner in one of Toronto's Lick’s Homeburgers & Ice Cream in 2001, he recruited and trained a student-based workforce, diffusing employee conflicts when necessary. As Camp Counselor for Etobicoke Parks & Recreation, Clarence Pitterson created programs, hosted discussions, and encouraged healthy competition in the city programs that kept youths off the streets.
