Civant Skin Care offers a variety of products for reducing skin problems, including dark circles around the eyes, acne scars, and age spots. Founded in 1999, Civant began developing a skin-lightening product that not only proved effective in the treatment of many skin-related issues, but was also safe for daily use. By 2003, Civant released Meladerm, which utilizes the skin care industry's latest advancements and research. Since its introduction, the research and development team at Civant have continued to improve the formula for Meladerm, while avoiding harmful chemicals such as mercury, hydroquinone, and steroids.
Civant's Meladerm employs an array of active ingredients derived from natural extracts, such as mulberry and bearberry plants. Through the combination of these ingredients, Civant devised Meladerm to target not only the melanosomes that help create the pigment in the skin, but also the enzyme tyrosinase, which catalyzes enzymes in order to create the melanosomes. Since many of the ingredients in Meladerm begin to deteriorate quickly when exposed to air, Civant utilizes an airless dispenser using a vacuum and piston. Customers often see results within two weeks of first using Meladerm. Civant suggests using its products for a variety of skin conditions, including liver spots, old scars, birthmarks, dark skin on the elbows and knees, uneven skin tones, freckles, and sun damage.
