Chuck Horning - Professional Summary:    ´╗┐Respected Southern California businessman Chuck Horning has succeeded in establishing his reputation as a real estate businessman and environmental advocate through his years of work as a business executive. After attending Pacific Union College, where he graduated from in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Chuck Horning pursued a career constructing and facilitating health care establishments and hotels along the West Coast. In the 1980s, however, Chuck Horning decided to switch his focus to ranch preservation, offices for commercial ventures, and resort and vacation properties, which eventually resulted in the sale of many of his health care facilities. Notably, in 2003, Chuck Horning came into possession of the Telluride Ski & Golf Resort in Colorado, which he has since turned into one of the region's most respected attractions for both winter and summer outdoor activity. Chuck Horning has invested much time in the restoration of his California ranches, including taking part in such processes as soil nourishment, stream bank restoration, range improvements, and steps taken against the further erosion of soil. In particular, regard to soil, Chuck Horning has followed the example of his late father's work on rehabilitating soils that have been rendered absent of many of their nutrients via modern agricultural practices. According to evidence gathered by Chuck Horning and his father, the depletion of key nutrients in the soil is correlative to the spread of disease patterns in America and internationally as well. Chuck Horning is also a devoted arborist, who annually plants more than 1,000 trees on his properties, including golden bamboo and coconut plants on his Hawaiian property and black oak, valley oak, cedar, and ponderosa pines on his California ranches. Chuck Horning serves as Chairman of Newport Federal, a company he established in 1970 in Newport Beach, California, and holds property in the realms of resorts, health institutions, commercial properties, hotels, and ranches, amongst others.
