About Christian Grundtvig

Christian Grundtvig was born in Horsholm, Denmark on the 30th of August and currently resides in Hellerup, Denmark. Before he started playing poker professionally, he had an enormous hobby which was stamp collecting.

After discovering that one of his stamps was worth $30,000, Christian Grundtvig saw the profitable possibilities in becoming a stamp dealer. Then he started his own business and made it into a successful venture, which is how Christian Grundtvig earned his nickname “The Stamp” and. That nickname is still used when he plays poker.

Christian Grundtvig began playing poker with friends in 2001 and would win only small amounts of money, just enough to keep the games interesting. Several years later, however, he started playing in some online poker sites in his spare time and actually, started doing quite well. In 2003, he entered an online Tournament for $123 and won, taking home the top prize of $396,000. This gave Christian Grundtvig the chance to become a professional poker player with more than enough money in the bank to travel to various tournaments in Europe and the entire globe.

Playing live poker Tournaments, however, was something that seemed to come naturally to Christian and it was much more challenging than the online ones. When he traveled to Baden to play in an European Poker Tournament (EPT) event, he placed fourth for over $50,000. In January of 2006, he went to the Bahamas to participate in the World Poker Tour's PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure and finished eighth, just short of the televised final table. Christian Grundtvig is the champion of the Paris World Poker Tour (WPT) No Limit Hold'em Championship which was held in the Aviation Club de France on Friday, June 16th, 2006. Christian took home 712,500 EUROS in cash. Christian Grundtvig is a member of the Denmark poker team (PokerTeam.dk) which is sponsored by Poker Plex and his total winning amoun to over $1,268,872.
