About Chris Hinchcliffe

Chris Hinchcliffe, aka "Hinch", is not the ordinary poker player you would imagine. At 5'10'' and 280 pounds, this man's dream used to be a promising baseball player, until his dream was brutally shattered with an arm injury.

After leaving the world of baseball, Chris Hinchcliffe searched for new dreams and career paths. He joined the US Navy and later returned home to Olympia, Washington, to work in construction. Between building gas pipelines, Chris Hinchcliffe started playing poker on his spare time. He learned and practiced the game, and being a competitive rival to his opponents he started doing better and better in the games and tournaments. Lady luck was not so generous to Chris Hinchcliffe at first, until in 2004 a $25 satellite to a WPT event changed his life forever.

The WPT Season 2 Party Poker Million event was indeed a great opportunity for Chris Hinchcliffe, who made it all the way to the final table. He took the 3rd place in the tournament, along with $441,463. With his newly earned money Chris Hinchcliffe bought a bar, and continued playing poker alongside his day job.

Being a single man, Chris Hinchcliffe can devote much of his spare time to various poker tournaments, in which he constantly participates ever since the year 2004. His favorite poker games are Limit and No Limit Hold'em. His main ambition is to enter the poker players A-List before quitting the professional poker career. The most respected poker players in the eyes of Chris Hinchcliffe are the ones who play poker to live their dreams. When not playing poker, Chris Hinchcliffe likes to play Softball, Golf, and obviously – poker. He also listens to country music (although he claims to like "anything but metal") and his favorite movie is Band of Brothers.
