About Chris Camacho

Chris Camacho is an Internet search pioneer and entrepreneur with a background in marketing, media and web-design. As a recognised expert in the search and media industry, Chris Camacho has worked for some of the UK's biggest agencies including, MediaEdge:CIA (MEC) and Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG). Over the last 5 years Chris has helped agencies build and develop their Search offering, laying the foundations of an integrated Search Department across both Branding and Direct Response metrics.

During his time at Weboptimiser, MediaEdge:CIA (MEC) and Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), Chris Camacho worked across many sectors helping to grow brands including Nestle, Monster, Citibank, Bupa, Honda and many more. His role was to help develop a fully integrated Search Strategy that enabled the target market to easily interact with the brands across multiple digital platforms. Chris is a firm believer of cross media integration; he feels that search is the ideal interaction point for brands and their consumers/target market. When running TV, Radio or other conventional media campaigns, Chris Camacho is adamant that a Search Marketing Campaign should accompany it and act as a direct point of connecting the user with the brand.

Chris Camacho has led his teams successfully through a period of market growth and development, and boasts an impressive proven track record. During his time in Digital Media and Search Marketing, Chris Camacho personally created best practice guidelines, services, tools and technologies to improve the way his Department(s) work. Chris has always played an active role in all areas of business, from finance to recruitment, business development, strategy and production.


Chris Camacho's first major career break came when he was employed by Weboptimiser Media to help build and develop their Paid Search offering. He helped develop their 24/7 Search Campaign offering and built strong partnerships with some of the biggest agencies and companies in the UK and across the globe. Working on a range of clients Chris was able to build and develop a team of PPC Specialists which he recruited and trained - who remain with the company today. Chris enjoyed immeasurable success at Weboptimiser before he moved on to Group M's MediaEdge:CIA (MEC) where he was responsible for 75% of the Search department's revenue and grew his client portfolio by over 700%.


His current role - Associate Director - at Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has provided Chris with the platform to work closely with a number of exciting brands - Bupa Intl, Europcar Group, Honda and many others. Chris Camacho has been given the freedom to develop integrated media campaigns that places Search Engine Marketing at the heart of the communications mix. Most recently Chris' role has developed across all Digital Platforms - whilst managing a team of ten SEM specialists he is also now managing a team of digital experts - and is working closely with his clients to maximise delivery integration.
