Following his graduation, he worked as a realtor for a few years, and it was in the year 2002 that he decided to take up poker as a profession.

At the 2003 Borgata Poker Open, Chris Bell finished in ninth-place and bagged $18,800 in the No-Limit Hold’em Championship held on September 20. At the 2005 Los Angeles Poker Classic, Chris Bell held sixth rank in the No-Limit Hold’em event to take home $28,433. He took part in the No-Limit Hold’em Championship of 2005 Party Poker Million IV, finished 19th and made another $41,705.
