Choices Counseling Center

Choices Counseling Center, a leading therapy and treatment center located in central Florida, has provided superior service to its patients for over 25 years. Choices Counseling Center began with only a few clients who attended weekly therapy sessions. The number of attendees for the Center’s Weekend and Five Day Intensives reach into the thousands, as people travel from all over the world to attend the distinguished treatment programs. In addition to 12-step programs, therapists across the United States are implementing Choices Counseling Center’s community-based plans in their own clinics. Such programs are said to be more successful than others are because they are tailored to individual clients and assist them with every step in the recovery process.

Both the weekend and five-day programs at Choices Counseling Center consist of group therapy and support group meetings. The community environments that these programs offer help patients feel a sense of connection to others, emotions that are beneficial when recovering from an addiction or other disorder. The Extended Care Program at Choices Counseling Center is based on the same principles, but this program enables patients to enjoy a larger sense of community environment by allowing them to live and work outside the facility. At the same time, patients receive structured living assistance and valuable tools for recovery from Choices Counseling Center for as long as they need them. Choices Counseling Center cites the treatment plan as being “a program of self-discovery” because it allows the patients to realize their potential to move past troubling situations to enjoy a more self-sustaining life.

Choices Counseling Center has helped thousands of people regain their lives after dealing with negative situations, and the Center will continue to apply innovative methods to its practice to ensure the recovery of all its patients. Maureen R. Traynor established Choices Counseling Center in 1985, and she led the facility until her passing in 2010. At present, as Director and President, her daughter Elizabeth Traynor, who trained with Maureen for the past 25 years, supervises the work of Choices Counseling Center, and she remains committed to carrying on her mother's legacy.
