Ms. Cheryl D. Polk leverages 25 years of professional experience toward her current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer of the United Way of Greater St. Louis.Talented in operations management, as well as a master of discovering and implementing new channels of opportunity, Cheryl oversees a broad range of duties and responsibilities internally and throughout the community. Cheryl Polk has also been behind major projects, such as the development and launch of United Way's 2-1-1 Missouri and 2-1-1 Southwestern Illinois, which directs residents to free, confidential help pertaining to health and human services. Despite her full time job with United Way, Cheryl Polk is committed to a number of other causes. Today, Cheryl Polk maintains leadership positions with organizations including A World of Difference Institute of the Anti-Defamation League, the American Red Cross Charles Drew Advisory Board, the Cultural Leadership: Gateway Center for Giving, the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri Historical Society Friends Board, the Missouri History Museum. Recognized throughout the community for her significant contributions, Cheryl Polk was asked to author the foreword for the third edition of "Who's Who in Black St. Louis" and is the recipient of a number of awards, including the 2007 Mathews-Dickey Meritorious Community Service Award. Cheryl Polk is the former Director of Donor Services for the American Red Cross Missouri-Illinois Blood Region. Cheryl Polk's business growth and marketing strategies led to a $6.2 million increase in revenues, numerous new records in Region collections, and the first annual goal attainment and budget meeting in Region history. Cheryl Polk's background in charitable services and business leadership includes former roles as Vice President of New Business Development & Marketing for Provident Counseling; Operations Manager for INROADS/St. Louis, Inc.; Vice President of Marketing for DBP Consultants, Inc.; and Sales Manger for Dictaphone Corporation. Cheryl Polk currently resides in Missouri.
