I usually fell asleep in english grammar class in high school, but it is good that I didn’t flunk it. English grammar is an essential part in the writer’s ability to write. Whether a professional writer or just a simple student or even a parent who just want to communicate to your children’s teacher, using the correct grammar helps you to get your message across very effectively; good grammar helps in focusing the contents of the message than the construction of it. Although there are hundreds and hundreds of English grammar, grammar rules to follow in different guides, only a few are very important to know to be able to write a good message or article that most people need to be adept with.

 

 

First, the subject and verb needs to be in collaboration or in agreement with each other. Without it, your message will appear to be “at war” with each other. Second, you should keep the correct tense. Tense here refers to time. Whatever the tense you used, it should be consistent all through your whole article. When you pick a tense, whether past, present, or future; you have to stick to it all throughout the article. Third, is the spelling; the most important component in writing, without it, you kiss your article goodbye. Fourth is the punctuation, you should know where to place your commas, colons and semi-colons. Fifth, the point of view, you should also maintain this in the collaboration of the message; if it is written in the first person, second person, or even the third. Last, is the capitalization, you should remember to capitalize the proper names, places and things.

 

Learning how to convey your ideas correctly and definitely is always the butter on the bread, and sometimes you can curve some grammar rules but it always take broad knowledge of the English grammar just to avoid looking foolish.
