TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - Tampa, FL 2008-2009
NFL football team, established in 1976.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

Developed and led all technology operations to form an effective, NFL compliant, IT structure. Consolidated, rebuilt and modernized all network functions, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, IBM SAN, file and printer sharing, backup, ftp, company websites and network hardware. Maintained, upgraded, repaired and supported all servers, software and operating systems. Managed and oversaw all technology projects and modifications to the infrastructure environment. Managed telephone and voicemail systems. Established hardware standards, network security and computing usage policies to maintain a consistent technology environment. Managed and audited department spending to ensure coherence to budget. Oversaw and advised on technology operations for Buccaneers parent company offices. Served as a contributing member of Tampa Bay Buccaneers management team and excelled in a high profile technology leadership position.

 

Selected Accomplishments:
• Implemented credit card acceptance technology at the Stadium, collaborated with vendors, business partners, the Buccaneers and the Tampa Sports Authority throughout project planning, scheduling, installation, testing, and rollout. New system was in place at the start of the 2008 season (less than half the time scheduled) and was used effectively by food and beverage concessions partner s for Superbowl 43 (2009).
• Established an off-site technology environment (computers, network, printers, copiers, faxes, etc.) to support the needs of 60 staff during preseason training camp in Orlando, Florida. Collaborated with department heads, hotel management, and local technology providers in planning and implementation. Relocated, set up and networked equipment, monitored systems and made repairs during training camp. Transitioned equipment and data to Tampa after training camp completed.
• Collaborated with NFL, partners, local and national vendors, and other involved parties in configuring the Stadium environment to support NFL needs at Superbowl 43 (2009). Managed several vendors and configured equipment owned by the Buccaneers to support data needs throughout the stadium.
• Prepared and implemented a disaster recovery plan to allow the team to quickly recover from simple data loss or from natural disaster events that may require physical displacement of employees. Contracted a storage vendor and implemented offsite data storage practices to better secure the team against data loss.

 

MARKETFORWARD, a Publicis Groupe Company - Chicago, IL 2007-2008
A developer of software systems that assist marketing agencies with concepting, preparing, executing and archiving marketing programs.
TECHNICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER
Developed/built a modern IT infrastructure and process, from the ground up, after a several year lack of IT leadership within the organization. Guided technology operations for systems-focused component of larger Publicis Groupe worldwide marketing operations. Prepared and managed capital and operations budgets to align service and project requirements with business goals. Oversaw technology needs for Paris office of MarketForward. Oversaw five direct reports. Served as a contributing member of the MarketForward management team.

 

Selected Accomplishments:
• Established a foundation to allow MarketForward to grow revenue by 400% over three years. Reduced disorganization; implemented policies, processes and process improvements to streamline operations; cut costs and created predictability of response for internal teams, clients and business partners.
• Optimized worldwide system performance and reliability, increasing system uptime to 99% and decreasing unplanned outages to less than 1% of all operational time, through rapid acquisition of knowledge of the system and enhancements to the technology.
• Established new, productive relationships with Publicis corporate technology teams and managed interactions to maximize service to MarketForward.
• Assigned control of support operations shortly after hire and leadership role expanded, both in Chicago and in Paris.

A marketing agency supporting clients in diverse industries including automotive, beer, spirits, soft drinks, financial services, home electronics, government services, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications.

Maintained current systems while expanding the service offerings of the technology environment to align with business expansion and new trends in marketing technology. Prepared and managed budgets. Managed help desk and IT staff.

 

Selected Accomplishments:
• Initiated and developed process improvements for company staff and developed the foundations of an archive management system, decreasing archive data retrieval times. Implemented process improvements lessened confusion, eased training requirements for staff, reduced knowledge attrition and allowed Upshot management to monitor workflow efficiency and identify bottlenecks at a personnel level.
• Developed a hardware life cycle management policy, replacing the ad hoc process that was in place. The life cycle policy led to more consistent budget planning, year over year, minimizing bulk or emergency purchases, and more closely aligned hardware refreshes with depreciation cycles, warranties and software release schedules. Efforts offset long term repair costs, reduced downtime, and improved service times in emergency situations.
• Developed a disaster recovery plan and associated recovery assets. Improved protection of company data using EMC snapshot technology and improved tape backup schedules. Contracted a storage vendor and implemented offsite data storage practices to better secure Upshot against data loss.
• Consolidated server and storage systems to maximize resource utilization and lessen user confusion when searching for data.
• Modernized the data center by upgrading HVAC and electrical systems. Installed a fire suppression system.
