About Celso Correia

Celso Correia - Products and Services:

Over the years, Mozambican entrepreneur Celso Correia has maintained a vested interest in the ongoing development of his country’s industry and in its people. Mr. Correia has played a key role as an investor, business leader, and philanthropist. Educated both in Mozambique and South Africa, he completed his university studies in management and subsequently founded Insitec, a Maputo-based corporation with holdings in financial, construction, energy, and other growth industries.

Beginning with Insitec Imobiliária, Celso Correia made his foray into the commercial real estate sector in 2004, building an impressive portfolio of properties. In tandem with his activities in Mozambican real estate, he branched out into distribution and logistics, construction, infrastructure, banking, telecommunications, and energy, effectively covering some of the most prominent areas of Mozambique’s economy.

Now organized under the holding company Insitec SGPS, subsidiaries Insitec Imobiliária, Insitec Investimentos, and Insitec Constrói are led to success in their respective industries under Mr. Correia’s guidance. These entities strive to deliver excellence in all facets of business and to grow the economy through substantial job creation campaigns.

With an eye toward stewardship of the people and the environment, Celso Correia and his colleagues at Insitec SGPS lead several key initiatives to promote human rights and green energy across the nation. The company provided a much-needed water tank for the town of Tenga; gave computers and other educational materials to regional public school systems; sponsored such cultural events as the DOCKANEMA documentary film festival and the Mozambique Music Awards; and, most recently, hosted a national symposium in support of women’s rights. In addition, Insitec SGPS has invested in the Mphanda Nkuwa Hydropower Plant, a major sustainable energy project with the potential to produce 2,500 megawatts of power.
