About Catherine Cruger

An alumnus of the University of Denver, Catherine Cruger has dedicated her career to the art of equitation. An equestrian participant since the age of 5, Ms. Cruger began giving riding lessons to adults and children throughout the Northeast when she was 15 years old. In 1996, she joined Larkspur Farm in Wilton, Connecticut, as a barn manager, rider, and trainer. In this role, Catherine Cruger cared for more than three dozen horses and gave lessons to more than 40 students per week. She also competed in the AA circuit during this time, qualifying for several prominent equestrian events while ranking among the top 25 riders across the nation.

After completing her college education, Catherine Cruger transitioned into hunter-jumper training in a position with Snowfield Farm in Vail, Colorado. Working under the tutelage of legendary equestrian figure Laurie Jueneman, Ms. Cruger trained several adults and children who went on to become nationally ranked riders. She also supervised the farm’s pony camp program.

Currently, Ms. Cruger owns and operates Some Day Farm, an equitation training facility in Bend, Oregon. In addition to offering children's programs and adult lessons, the farm trains aspiring riders to qualify for indoor events such as the National Horse Show and the Capital Challenge in Maryland.
