Carolyn Bivens holds an extensive background as a successful senior management executive. While working as the Vice President of National Circulation Sales for USA TODAY, she implemented a unique circulation strategy for the daily newspaper that was copied by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and other national newspapers. Later, as USA TODAY’s Senior Vice President and Associate Publisher, she increased revenue by 100% in 5 years and beat several records for margins and revenues. In her next role as President and Chief Operating Officer at Initiative Media North America, Electronic Media magazine named Carolyn Bivens “One of the Most Powerful Women in Television.” During her four-year tenure as Commissioner of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), Carolyn Bivens grew profits tenfold, from $400,000 to $4 million, while transforming the American women’s sports organization into an international enterprise numbering 1,700 members in 37 countries.
Among her many achievements, Carolyn Bivens holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve on the seven-member Board of the World Golf Foundation and Audit Committee. She was also instrumental in securing the inclusion of golf as an Olympic sport, starting in 2016. Currently, Carolyn Bivens sits on the Board of Directors for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In November 2010, she became a Leadership Facilitator for Eagle’s Flight, a Canadian company that specializes in experiential learning, and in January 2011, she became a Leadership Circle Member for the Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment. Carolyn Bivens resides in Newport Beach, California.
