About Carole Lane
Dr. Carole C. Lane brings 18 years of experience in echocardiography to her role as the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services for Monroe County Hospital. In her position, one of Lane’s duties is to analyze and interpret cardiac echocardiography, heart disease, and vascular ultrasound studies for Monroe County Hospital and the surrounding counties of Alabama. Dr. Lane also holds a position on the Medical Executive Committee for the Hospital, where she assists in making leadership decisions that effect the entire hospital staff and its patients. Dr. Carole C. Lane is also the Vice President of the Lane Medical Group and is a practicing Dermatologist. In addition to diagnosing and treating disorders of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails, Dr. Lane specializes in identifying and surgically excising skin cancers. Recognizing the life-saving importance of treating skin cancer in its early stages, Dr. Lane also voluntarily holds free skin cancer screening clinics several times a year. Dr. Carole C. Lane attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham for both her undergraduate and her postgraduate degrees. Dr. Lane earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with Minors in Math and Chemistry and graduated Cum Laude. She then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine to earn her Doctor of Medicine, matriculating in the top 25% of her class. Dr. Lane did her postgraduate residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama Medical Center, where she also conducted her postgraduate training in dermatology. Dr. Lane uses the knowledge she gained over the past 25 years of studying and practicing medicine to build on her expertise in order to become the best doctor she can be for her patients. While Dr. Carole Lane receives an immense amount of satisfaction from helping her patients overcome physical maladies, she also enjoys helping the needy through her volunteer work. Dr. Lane is a licensed private pilot and uses her skill to participate in Pilots for Christ, a program that provides air transport for very ill patients and their families who live in remote areas, so they can receive medical care. She also participates in programs that deliver food to poor families. Dr. Carole Lane devotes both her career and much of her personal time to aiding those who are ill, hungry, and in need of help. In her free time, Dr. Carole Lane enjoys singing in the Sanctuary Choir at her church. She also likes to exercise and counts tennis and skiing as two of her favorite sports. Dr. Carole Lane lives in her home state of Alabama.
