I  am a singer/songwriter from the midwest.  I have written a wealth of music featuring many styles such as: Rock, Pop, Country, Blues, Folk, Contemporary Christian (songs for Worship),  Gospel, Christian/Rock, Southern  Rock, and Americana.  

 

I currently reside in Indiana, but am an Iowan native.  I teach music  at Taylorsville Elementary School, where I have held that postion for 10 years.   

I  also direct a church choir at Asbury United Methodist Church- Columbus, In., and founded the Christian/Rock band, "AUTUMN RAIN", which serves a contemporary worship service every week and  ministers throughout the community and other opportunities of ministry that arise. 

 

Lastly, I have recently developed a new music/worship experience called, "SCRIPTURES, STORIES AND SONGS".  My current theme is: "Time to Come Home", also the title song of the tour this year.  "SCRIPTURES, STORIES AND SONGS" uses Biblical scriptures and stories, in addition to personal stories which relate to my original songs and music.  I also add my "Great Hymn Medley" I have arranged for audience participation and feature a short "role-playing" snidbit for the audience, too!  The presentation is adapted and customized to church's individual worship services and/or groups specific needs.

"SCRIPTURES, STORIES AND SONGS" is a great worship enhancement to women's groups, prayer groups, couple's retreats, etc. 

The music is positive and Biblically sound, and the variety of activities reaffirms and strengthens the relationship with God of the practicing Christian, and for the "unchurched", helps "reach souls for Christ!"

Carol Barth - Professional Experience:     I began teaching music in 1985, where I took a position at a K-12 rural school, outside Marshalltown, Iowa.

I taught for a few years at Green Mountain School, which eventually merged wtih Garwin School District, and became, "GMG" School Corporation.  I taught Elementary - High School.  I also taught middle school music at Marshalltown's, "Anson Middle School". 

In 1998, my family moved to Indiana, where I was hired to teach elementary music  at Taylorsville Elementary for the BCSC School Corporation.

I continue to teach at Taylorsville Elementary and have a 5th and 6th grade Chorus, direct the Celebration Singers at Asbury United Methodist Church (Columbus, In.), and also have founded a Christian/Rock band, "AUTUMN RAIN".  I have written and co-written 3 original musicals for children.

The most recent musical, "CHOICES", was co-written by students at Taylorsville Elementary and consists of a background performance track and sound track demo. It is our hope  to make a difference through  publishing "CHOICES", providing we can find some interested music publishers and/or investors.  It is considered by some to be the "Disney High School Musical" for elementary schools in quality.   However, the musical and music brings morals, values and purpose as  reveals real-life issues and character-building lessons.

 

 

Carol Barth - Education:   I grauated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1981 and attended 1 year at Iowa Central Community College.   I transferred to the University of Iowa where I obtained a degree in Music Education, with an emphasis on voice and organ.  I have continued my educational growth with motivational and inspiring music and classroom management classes through Indiana University and Berklee College.

 

IT IS MY HOPE FOR MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD THROUGH MY MUSIC.  If my songs can help heal, bring hope, joy, peace, contentment, or just merely entertain, then my music has served its purpose and not been in vain.  Through my Christian songs,  it is my goal to reach others for Christ , develop closer relationships with Him, and help establish God's Kingdom.
