Carl Segerblom is a law student at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and an experienced political and environmental campaign field organizer. Currently a December 2011 Juris Doctor candidate, he is a contributor to the Law Journal for Social Justice at Arizona State University. Carl Segerblom developed an early passion for politics, moving on to study history at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2005, Mr. Segerblom took a break from his educational career to gain firsthand knowledge and experience on the campaign field. During the few years between undergraduate and law school, Carl Segerblom earned a wealth of experience. Most recently, he was a Surrogate Scheduler for the Political Department of the Friends for Harry Reid campaign in 2010. As an influential representative of Senator Reid’s successful organization, Mr. Segerblom worked closely with political directors and out-of-town surrogates, learning the tactics of a winning campaign in a major political race. Before joining Friends for Harry Reid, Carl Segerblom was a Legal Extern for the Democratic Policy Committee in Washington, D.C. During this time, Mr. Segerblom helped research and draft legislation proposed to the committee, and assisted in organizing a hearing to investigate defense contractor abuses in Iraq. Earlier, he was a Field Organizer for the Las Vegas Sierra Club’s Power2Change environmental campaign. In 2007, Carl Segerblom got his first job as a Field Organizer for the 2008 presidential campaign of John Edwards, where he was responsible for organizing field operations in four separate assembly districts of the greater Las Vegas area.
