About Carlos Gavidia

Prior to launching his career as a successful business consultant and co-founder of a nationwide electronic payment processing firm, Mr. Carlos Gavidia studied economics and business at East Carolina University. Graduating in 1991 from the Greenville, North Carolina-based institution, Carlos Gavidia went on to manage several successful firms and donate much of his time and resources to philanthropic causes.

Overseeing company-wide operations in the credit and debit card businesses, Carlos Gavidia is now Chief Executive Officer of Direct Connect of Virginia, a payment processing firm he helped establish in 1994. In addition to managing business development, forming strategic corporate partnerships, and expanding Direct Connect of Virginia’s nationwide sales territories, Carlos Gavidia directs a dedicated team, which provides low-cost, premium payment solutions to retailers and other businesses throughout the United States. Before forming Direct Connect of Virginia, Carlos Gavidia sold insurance as a District Manager for the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) for several years. Carlos Gavidia’s proficiency in the industry and personal drive helped him become the third-highest ranked agent in a company of 4,400 agents. Possessing a unique aptitude for business and a desire to excel at what he enjoys doing, Carlos Gavidia ran his own small company, C and G Tee’s, throughout high school and college, selling ice cream, soda, hot dogs, and t-shirts throughout the D.C. Metro Area.

Carlos Gavidia frequently leverages his abilities and resources to help those in need. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Carlos Gavidia and his business partner Lon Gaddy were instrumental in rallying together friends, family, and business associates to donate much-needed supplies to victims of the hurricane. Carlos Gavidia and numerous other Universal Debit and Credit Corp. employees, who distributed five tractor-trailer loads of MREs, water, and other items to Gulf Coast residents, earned the praise of President George W. Bush. In 2006, Carlos Gavidia again heeded the call for help when he contributed enough funds to replace the roof and bathrooms of a Peruvian school severely damaged by mudslides. Mr. Carlos Gavidia remains active in the nonprofit Lift Me Up! and the Windy Hill Foundation.
