About Carlos Abadi
Carlos Abadi was born in Argentina on July 14, 1960. He was brought up in Buenos Aires, where he attended and graduated the Lycee Franco-Argentin Jean Marmoz in 1977. Following this, he attained a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1983. Two years later he earned an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business in Ithaca, New York.
Carlos Abadi has made a 20-year career of creating financial solutions for emerging markets, governments, and the private sector. These solutions often prove useful, especially as they are applicable in chaotic and even volatile financial situations. Abadi first distinguished himself when Mexico defaulted on its loans in 1982. He emerged as a solid player in the trade of syndicated loans, and since 1985 he’s had a hand in every specialized restructured sovereign debt instrument issued.
Carlos Abadi is a world citizen. He speaks seven separate languages: he is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, with proficiency in Portuguese and Italian. He has a working knowledge of German and Hebrew as well. His interests lie in world politics, international finance, travel, and cycling. In fact, he was actually a participant in the L’Etape Tour de France in 2005.
He has also been a guest speaker at numerous colleges over the years. He has been an invited lecturer at Columbia University, Harvard, and New York University as well. He has shared an extensive vision about what the future holds for business.
