Carlo Nash, an English professional player, was born on September 13, 1973 in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Nicknamed “Nasher”, he started his career in football as a goalkeeper with the Rossendale United Football Club (F.C.) in 1993 before joining Clitheroe F.C. Following his one-year stint there, he moved to Crystal Palace F.C. in 1996 and stayed with the club for the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. In his tenure with the club, he played 21 matches. Carlo Nash then transferred to Stockport County in 1998 and played 89 matches for the club. In 2001 he joined Manchester City and stayed with the club for two seasons making 38 appearances.
Following Manchester City’s promotion to the Premier League, Carlo Nash was sold to Middlesbrough F.C. in 2003. During the 2003-04 season, he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Aston Villa F.C. in his only Premiership appearance of the season. In the two years that he was with Middlesbrough, Carlo Nash appeared in five games. At the end of his two-year spell with Middlesbrough, he joined Preston North End in 2005 and kept 24 clean sheets during the 2005-06 season, setting a club record. Carlo Nash was the first-choice goalkeeper during his two-year tenure with the club and played a total of 82 matches for it. He joined Wigan Athletic F.C. on a one-month emergency loan in February 2007, and was later signed by it permanently on June 27, 2007. Following his transfer to Wigan, he was loaned out to Stoke City, on March 4, 2008, on an emergency deal, and stayed with the club for the rest of the season. In September 2008, Carlo Nash transferred to Everton F.C., the club he supported as a boy, as a reserve goalkeeper.
Carlo Nash has established a travel book publishing company 'Luxury Backpackers' with his wife. His books have become best sellers and are considered as travel bibles for backpackers across the globe. When not playing football, he is an enthusiastic travel photographer.
