Candace Sams

As the senior woman on the US Kung Fu team and as an ex-police officer and EMT crew chief, Candace Sams’ personal exploits mirror the fascinating and adventure-filled lives of the characters in her action/adventure and fantasy romance novels. With over 40 titles to her name, Candace Sams’ numerous awards and novels indicate the personal dedication she has for her work. Prior to her writing career, Candace Sams’ time in law enforcement spanned 11 years and included time spent in Texas, California, and Alabama.

 

Sams also worked for the park service as a Ranger and an Ambulance Crew Chief; professions that helped provide fodder for her various paramedic, intergalactic law enforcement, and secret society, protective agent characters. Keenly committed to her readers, Candace Sams has turned many of her novels into multi-book series. She encourages her readers to open a dialogue with her regarding individual characters as well as where they hope various series will go. Displaying the same level of devotion to the international martial arts field, Candace Sams toured extensively in China at the request of the Chinese Martial Arts Confederation and holds the equivalent of four U.S. black belts.

 

Focusing on long-poled and edge weapons in her practice of Shaolin Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do, Candace Sams holds three International Martial Arts titles. When not working on forthcoming novels or cultivating her martial arts practice, Sams enjoys gardening and reading novels by Scott Cunningham, Nancy Freedman, Piers Anthony, and Edain McCoy.
