Cameron White, an Australian cricketer, was born on August 18, 1983 in Bairnsdale, Victoria. He is a powerful middle order right-handed batsman and sometimes bowls right-arm leg-spin and this makes him an all-rounder.
In January 2001, when Cameron White was 17, he played for the Australia Under-19 team for the first time and in January-February 2002, he led the Australian team to victory at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He was a part of the Australian team during its tour to Pakistan in September 2005 and in the next month, he made his full international debut against the ICC World XI at the Johnnie Walker Super Series in Melbourne. Cameron White was selected as the Supersub in first two matches, bowling four overs in the second match and despite no chance to bowl or bat he participated in the final game. He also featured at the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy matches against New Zealand in December 2005, in which he made his full starting debut. Cameron White made his International Twenty20 (T20I) debut on January 9, 2007 against England in Sydney and has played two T20Is matches securing fifty runs, his highest being 40*.
In the 2000-01season, Cameron White made his maiden appearance in a First-class match as a teenager for the Victorian Bushrangers and went on to earn comparisons to Shane Warne, a leg-spinner and an Australian team mate. However, his bowling style which had a little spin had a great resemblance to Anil Kumble, an Indian leg-spinner. When he was 20, Cameron White succeeded as the captain of Victoria, becoming the youngest player to attain captainship in the state's long first-class history. It is also anticipated that he will become an Australian Test player in the near future, and will play very similar to Shahid Afridi, a Pakistani all-rounder.
Cameron White signed with the Somerset County Cricket club for the 2006 English domestic season, and his term with the club was vital for his development as a cricketer. In August 2006, he scored an unbeaten 260 against Derbyshire, which was the highest individual score in the fourth innings of a First-class match. He returned to Somerset in 2007 as one of their two overseas players along with Justin Langer, a fellow mate. Cameron White has played 92 first-class matches, scoring 5557 runs, his highest being 260*. He has also featured in 118 List A matches securing 2774 runs, his highest being an unbeaten 126.
On January 13, 2005 Cameron White made his Twenty20 debut against Pakistan and has played thirty five matches, scoring 1002 runs, his highest being 141*. In 2006, he played against Worcestershire and made 141 runs, which is the second highest Twenty20 score.
In 2008, Cameron White was signed by Bangalore Royal Challengers for $500,000 to play at the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played eight matches at the IPL and scored 114 runs, his highest being 31* against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers.
