About Byron Parra


In his role as a consultant, Byron Parra wields a variety of skills gained from his tenure as a teacher and coach, as well as from his academic background in business. As a result of his extensive classroom experience, Parra is an expert at identifying needs and creating results, while facilitating powerful learning opportunities. As a high school basketball coach for ten years, he developed crucial leadership and management skills. Currently, Byron Parra serves as a partner at Advanced Performance Group in Springfield, Oregon, where his daily duties involve strategic planning and assisting clients in achieving their desired business results.

Prior to his consulting job, Parra served as an eighth grade math teacher at Thurston Middle School in Springfield. Developing dynamic lesson plans, he achieved exceptional success in cultivating forward-thinking and responsible students. Parra also served as a freshman and JV boys’ basketball coach in the Springfield community. As a coach, he assumed several responsibilities including developing practice and game plans, designing the basketball program’s website, and creating a youth feeder program for grades 6-8. In addition, he managed the tree-recycling fundraiser sponsored by the basketball program. 

Byron Parra received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Business from the University of Oregon in 2006. Subsequently, he pursued a Master of Arts in Education at Pacific University, and graduated in 2007. Shortly after, he became a certified teacher in the state of Oregon.

In his free time, Parra enjoys college football and supports the University of Oregon Football team. He also keeps physically fit and enjoys exercising.
