Bryan Schneider - Professional Summary:     

Over the course of his career, hematologist and oncologist Dr. Bryan Schneider of Indianapolis, Indiana, has made numerous key contributions to cancer research. Currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine, he serves as the principal investigator for several clinical trials being run at the university. In these trials, Dr. Bryan Schneider examines potential developments in the detection, treatment, and monitoring of metastatic breast cancer.

Dr. Bryan Schneider of Indianapolis has to date received more than $7 million in grant funding for his research. Most recently, he earned a three-year grant totaling nearly $1 million from the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute. This grant supports his ongoing research into gene amplification and deletion as an outcome biomarker for breast cancer patients receiving the recombinant antibody drug bevacizumab. In addition, he recently received the Advanced Clinical Research Award in Breast Cancer, conferred by several top cancer research organizations, which includes a $450,000 grant to study and validate certain biomarkers indicating taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy.

Widely published in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Bryan Schneider has authored many articles as well as textbooks. His work has appeared in such top journals as Clinical Breast Cancer and the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and he has contributed to a number of medical texts, including Advanced Therapy of Breast Disease and Antiangiogenic Cancer Therapy. In addition, he has served as a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and other leading professional publications.

Highly regarded by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Dr. Bryan Schneider of Indianapolis was selected as a highlighted presenter at the 2011 “Best of ASCO” conference. His presentation of an abstract earned inclusion in the society's official press program, an honor that it confers on fewer than 1 percent of such contributions. In addition, Dr. Schneider has received ASCO's Career Development Award and has twice been honored with its Merit Award. In 2011, his home institution of Indiana University honored him with its Early Career Achievement Award.
