About Bruna Santos
Professional Summary: In 2009, Bruna Juliana Santos enrolled as a full-time student in the renowned Food Science program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After only one semester, Bruna Juliana Santos distinguished herself by making the Dean’s List with a 3.76 grade point average. Bruna Juliana Santos continues to show dedication and talent in food science, an applied science that requires competence in biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and engineering. Once she successfully graduates from the program and becomes a food-science and -technology professional, Bruna Juliana Santos will be qualified to work in a variety of related fields, such as research, food development and production, product design, food packaging, microbiological and chemical testing, and sensory evaluation. To stay abreast of exciting new developments in the industry, Bruna Juliana Santos joined the Northeast Section of the Institute of Food Technology (ITF), an industry organization that has existed for over 70 years with members worldwide. Bruna Juliana Santos also keeps active in the UMass Food Science Club, an on-campus networking organization for food-science students and faculty. In her free time, Bruna Juliana Santos volunteers as an outreach worker with the student-led Student Association for the Multicultural Brazilian Alliance (S.A.M.B.A.). As an outreach volunteer, Bruna Juliana Santos visits local high schools and mentors students of Brazilian origin to inform them about the benefits of going to college. Bruna Juliana Santos also enjoys sewing, painting, cooking, and reading the works of her favorite authors, including Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho.
