About Bruce Horan
Bruce Horan Bio
Bruce Horan is an artist focused on graphic design and printmaking. After earning a B.S. from the University of Connecticut, Bruce Horan received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Bruce Horan applied his curatorial expertise to his duties as a Fine Arts Department graduate assistant at the Pratt Institute, which involved the management of studio spaces, lighting, and installations within the six graduate galleries. Bruce Horan also aided many exhibitions while at Pratt Institute, including the 2009 M.F.A. Candidate show and his 2010 Graduate Solo Exhibition, Quantus. He also coordinated the installation and lighting of all graduate Fine Arts thesis shows for the year. Outside of Pratt, Bruce Horan participated in the 2009 Best Poster Convention in Hampton, Virginia; The Mockingbird Foundation’s 2009 poster show in Denver, Colorado; and a 2010 group show at the LABA Gallery in New York City. Between May 2009 and August 2009, Bruce Horan worked as an Intern at New York’s Derrière L’Étoile Studios. Under the guidance of Master Printer Maurice Sanchez, Bruce Horan assisted with the production of lithographic prints and mono-prints, and worked with the documentation and curator-ship of the studio’s fine art collections. Bruce Horan graduated from Pratt Institute in 2010, earning the Pratt Circle Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement. Loyal to his alma mater, Bruce is a member of the Pratt Alumni Association. As a skilled graphic designer and illustrator who has studied design at the Shillington School of Graphic Design, Bruce Horan is proficient with both Macintosh and Microsoft platforms, as well as the Adobe and Corel Creative Suites. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
