About Brown and Crouppen

Founded by Ron Brown and Terry Crouppen, the law firm of Brown and Crouppen has been serving the legal needs of the residents of Missouri and Illinois since 1979. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the attorneys at Brown and Crouppen handle personal injury suits, medical malpractice, and work-related injury claims. Ron Brown practiced law for nearly a decade before establishing Brown and Crouppen, where he remains committed to representing plaintiffs with small claims to those fighting large corporations. Brown and Crouppen regularly handles seminal cases, achieving precedent-setting results. Recently, Brown and Crouppen represented plaintiffs in cases against the makers of drugs like Fen-Phen and Baycol, after the discovery that the medication could harm its users. Inspired to enter the legal field by the television series Perry Mason, Terry Crouppen founded Brown and Crouppen to provide plaintiffs with the opportunity to have their stories told and “make things right.” Close to 70 legal professionals, including 20 other attorneys, comprise the offices of Brown and Crouppen. One of Brown and Crouppen's most notable victories involves a 2003 case in Illinois concerning a woman who sued a hospital on behalf of her son after he suffered brain damage during the delivery. Due to Brown and Crouppen's representation, the woman received a $19 million settlement—the largest personal injury verdict in the history of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. The following year, Brown and Crouppen obtained a $15 million settlement from Pfizer Inc., ending a class action suit regarding 600 claims against the drug Rezulin. The actions of Brown and Crouppen also provoked legislative change. In 2003, the Governor of Illinois signed a law banning the sale of ephedra products. This bill was inspired by a lawsuit filed by Brown and Crouppen when a woman's son died after taking an ephedra product. Responsible for securing its clients over $500 million in damages, Brown and Crouppen offers free consultations and accepts phone calls 24 hours a day at (800) 536-HELP (4357). The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely on advertisements. Past results afford no guarantee of future results. Every case is different and must be judged on its own merits.
