About Brett Jeeves

Brett Jeeves is a 26-year-old fast-medium bowler from Claremont in Tasmania, Australia. A product of the Australian Cricket Academy, Jeeves has represented his country first at the Under-19 level and he made his senior team debut for Australia on August 30, 2008 in a One Day International (ODI) game against Bangladesh.

Brett Jeeves burst on to the domestic cricket scene during the 2004-05 season. With his trademark in-swinging yorkers, Jeeves began getting noticed in Australia before a knee injury that put him out of action for much of the 2005-06 season. Nicknamed “Banger,” Brett Jeeves returned to full fitness and appeared for all but one of Tasmania’s Pura and FR Cup matches in the 2007-08 season.

Although a fast bowler by trade, Brett Jeeves has two First Class 50s under his belt, with a career average of 17. As a bowler, Jeeves has picked up 82 wickets in 27 matches, including three five-wicket hauls and best bowling figures of 5 for 49. In the 2004-05 ING Cup on Australia’s domestic circuit Brett Jeeves picked up 20 wickets for Tasmania, and was ranked second best wicket taker with Shaun Tait in the lead.

Brett Jeeves contracted with Delhi Daredevils for the first season of the Indian Premier League. Jeeves has adapted well to the Twenty20 format, with a batting average of 23.50 and 9 wickets in his 7 Twenty20 appearances. The highlight of Brett Jeeves’s career however was his Australian national team debut in an ODI against Bangladesh, where he picked up two wickets and gave away only 11 runs, maintaining an economy rate of 2.20.
