As a boy, Bobby Zamora attended Barking Abbey Secondary School and played for the Senrab football club in the east part of London. Zamora played alongside John Terry, Paul Konchesky, Ledley King, and Jllyoyd Samual. Zamora has been a long time West Ham fan, and started his football career as an apprentice at the famous Academy of Football club. In August 1999, Zamora joined the Bristol Rovers as a trainee and only made six appearances in all the competitions. In 2000, Bobby Zamora joined Bath City where he scored eight goals in only six games, and then in February 2000, on a loan to Brighton & Hove Albion.

During his appearance, Bobby Zamora established himself as a very prolific goal scorer, and even breaking into the England under 21 team. Incredibly, Zamora scored 83 times for the club in only 136 appearances which helped Brighton win two successive championships. The Brighton fans sang a chant in Bobby Zamora’s honour to the tune of Dean Martin’s ‘That’s Amore: When the ball hits the goal, it’s not Shearer or Cole, it’s Zamora! When balls hit the net like a rocket, it’s Zamora.” Zamora’s then manager Glenn Hoddle who had been watching him for the previous two seasons, moved him to Tottenham Hotspur for £1.5 million in July 2003.

Zamora has had an international career throughout his footballing career. Bobby Zamora was called up for the England Under-21 team in April 2002. Zamora was also named in the England Under-21 team for the 2002 European Under-21 Championship with David Platt and his team manager who said the following about Bobby Zamora, “My mistake was not going to have a look at him earlier than I did. He's been in one squad, did very well in training and came on for 25 minutes and did great. If I need a goal and look at my bench and see a player who has scored 30 for the past two seasons, there is a chance he could come on. He warrants his place. [...]”

In August 2005, Bobby Zamora turned down the opportunity to play in the World Cup finals with Trinidad and Tobago saying, "Trinidad is my dad's country and to play in the finals would be a dream but West Ham are more important. I am only thinking about the club at the moment and do not want to be distracted from that."

In his 2006-2007 seasons playing, Bobby Zamora started off playing very well when he scored five of the Hammer’s six goals in the first four games of the season. Towards the end of 2006-2007 seasons, Bobby Zamora made 138 league and cup appearances for West Ham scoring 39 goals.
