About Boayan Island
Boayan is the largest island in the municipality of San Vicente, Palawan which is part of barangay Poblacion having an aggregate area of 1,327.31 hectares. It can be reached through a 45-minute to 1 hour motorboat ride from Poblacion proper.
During the 2008 CBMS survey, Boayan island registered a total population of 905 sparsely distributed in three (3) sitios, composed of sitio Casuyan 336, sitio Daplac 301 and sitio Pulang Bato 268. It has a total household of 185.
Next to sitio Panindigan, Boayan is the second largest fishing village in Pobacion with fishing as its main economic activity due to abundant marine resources. About 220 individuals, or more than 78% of its total labor force, is engaged in fishing.
